One year and a one off so far

Happy birthday to us, Happy birthday to us Happy birthday www.collectibulldogs.com Happy birthday to you!!!

Well folks before I rattle on about a first whole year let me start by saying I wish your all well and safe out there wherever your reading from.

I cannot believe it but yes it’s true collectibulldogs is one year old we made it our first whole year in the bag, so it was around this time last year I took the leap from just doing work in the English bulldog collectors club I created and jumped head first into the world of the Internet and all its hidden traps and coding and yes I would be the first to admit this website it’s external muck up and poor view days have had me cursing at myself but to be honest it’s all been worth it.

It’s my first website and a little crudely made but has served its purpose just fine and with the new website even better I think collectibulldogs will be here to stay.

Just about finding time to find those gems

Moving up

I’ve harped on about the accolades that have come this way since I started so there’s no need to mention them again but talk a bit about what lies ahead, I’m very happy that the collection will be taking the museum route, if I had of gone retail I think restocking would end up becoming a problem, with the fantastic pieces hard to find on a good day and remembering it took years of effort, research and saving just to get the pieces here today.

After the new website is up and running I will use the next three years views as a marker as to whether the website should be a long term/permanent venture and add something like Adsense to it so that it pays for itself and without sounding ungrateful I’m hoping Lee has done a dang good job and the new site has you good folks coming back time and time again.

To all that have viewed this last year I cannot thank you all enough for making the site a worthwhile cause.

That weebly blog blooper

I want to apologise on behalf of weebly my host before continuing this segment they had messed up my blog dates and archives and could not fix the issue, due to this problem created by the host I think I lost many readers as they could not be bothered to search out my latest blogs.

As for my blogging this past year I think I have improved I started out with blogs that looked like essays.

I have improved considerably this past year with my blogs now having richer content and quality pictures to go with each blog and my only down fall at the moment is turning rough looking links into working links using words.

To anyone out there wanting to come and guest blog please feel free to contact me as all are welcome here.

This form of blogging is great for both parties and helps to reach new interest and new viewers and collectibulldogs would love nothing more than to have its own community of amazing guest bloggers.

I doubt many will come forward until we are more formally established but once the collection hits museum status I think many will want the exposure then and I will have to be choosy about whom comes to guest blog then.

That’s all future bound and I have no mystic ball so until then come blog from amateur to seasoned all are very welcome.

Up down and up again

It’s been a great year for me since first publishing the website the down sides in the time frame have been losing my beloved Scruffy Louise, fighting the mental health services for treatment and my more present problem of OCD and its effects on my mood etc.

The highs have been much more rewarding for me the fact I can talk openly in a format like this about mental health without caring what you readers think is very big to me, but even bigger in the sense that the website was created by someone with certain issues and should be seen as an inspiration for others to follow suit.

I hope many folks have seen the website this last year and got something from it and if only one person has that’s still a good result.

As for the collection itself I have of course still been collecting and have quite a few new pieces to add to the website but I cannot do this until the new site is published I did find that the last year was my slowest year collecting but busiest year helping others.

Folks came looking for pieces, info, assistance, help with prices, collection liquidation, and so on so my own free time has been more limited but I do not mind and it’s actually preferred as I’m doing something that I love.

Wiggles just too dang cute

Wiggling on

If you all remember we received wiggles last December she had a poorly start to the year, but touch wood has had a brilliant few months, there’s no getting away from the fact she’s a mummies girl and still has certain issues contained inside that extra cute head of hers, but she’s doing much better now and we are all learning where the boundrys lie other than that wiggles is a joy to own and we are so glad so chose us to come and live with she bought some happiness when scruffy passed and is now very much beloved too…

Wiggles is very much at home now

Predicting the next 12 months I think we will be pretty much the same except for the new website and the new pieces I need to add once it’s finished, the next logical step is the hard task of getting the collection ready for exhibition, the installation process can be found in a previous blog I wrote and there’s tonnes to do before hand.

I think I need help with my ad campaign which I think Alice will be helping with along side other things I need to get my OCD in check somehow so I stop annoying Facebook and happy to say I have made recent efforts to pull away from my compulsion for as many views as possible and as I self promote its a bit of a fine line that I need to work on.

Alice will be in her home city during the summer holidays and will be back in the fall but we will be in constant contact in which she will be coming up with helpful ideas whilst both teaching each other the knowledge we have both obtained around the collecting field.

I think Alice will become a fantastic future contact if her vocation is in curating or archive cataloguing and will be around long enough to hopefully become a good friend.

Thank you all once again dear viewers and readers friends and repeat viewers the whole point of the website is for you guys I just pay the fees so here’s to another year of showcasing the bulldog and remember if you share my passion and see a post please give it that one share everyone counts and every one counts!!!

Until next time happy collecting…
